GREEN 2.0 STATEMENT ON EQUAL PAY DAY
WASHINGTON — Adriane Alicea, Managing Director of Green 2.0, today released the following statement regarding Equal Pay Day 2024.
“The climate movement cannot be successful without people of color, women, and people with gender-expansive identities. We also can’t ignore the fact that these groups, especially women of color, are paid significantly less than their peers.
It’s common sense: If we truly want to strengthen the environmental movement to take on big fossil fuels and those who wish to do our planet harm, our movement must be diverse, and those individuals must be compensated fairly. Period.”
Green 2.0 has a free Pay Equity Pledge developed expressly for environmental organizations, offering the framework to conduct internal compensation audits and enact corrective, transparent policies for their workforces.”
